The upper elementary bible class does something unique every year for bible. On Mondays, the students will go to chapel. Every week in chapel, we have a different special speaker. The first week of the month is Mrs. Mitchell who gives us a character trait for the month. She relates the trait to verses and characters in the bible. The second week of the month Pastor Taylor tells us what is on his heart. The third week, teachers rotate to tell us what God has laid on their hearts. The last week of the month is a special outside speaker or a video about missionaries.
On Tuesdays- Thursdays, the upper elementary classes meet together for a bible class as soon as school starts. Students start out praying for others and our country, then Mrs. Sidener gives a lesson about what God has laid on her heart to teach the students. Sometimes, its a character quality, other times its a video about work others have done, or a song that makes you think about what God has done in your life. This year, we have studied the names of God and for every name of God we constructed a piece of artwork to represent that name of God. On Fridays, the students are responsible for learning a verse and reciting it to their teachers. This way students can learn the word of God and hide it in their hearts. Verses normally go with the theme for that week. Verses are given on Friday and will need to be said the following Friday. |
